There are times in our lives when support from a caring health professional can help you transform the barriers to wellbeing...
Pregnancy and Postnatal Health
I am a Clinical Psychologist passionate about ‘helping to grow healthy mums and bubs’. Having a baby is generally a time of joy, change and uncertainty for women and their partners. I support women and their families during pregnancy and the postnatal months to experience confidence and joy in their journey into parenthood.
Joining Bulb has given me the opportunity to provide a range of services to women and their partners in the Eastern Suburbs. Learning to love and care for babies as well as themselves does not come instinctively to all new parents.
When women are generally enjoying their pregnancy, I provide postnatal planning services based on a ‘life-coaching’ approach. Postnatal planning involves working together to assess your new family’s resources and needs during the postnatal months, and make flexible choices about how you and your partner care for yourselves and your baby.
An individualised plan is created to cover all aspects of emotional, physical, mental, and social health for mothers, partners, and babies. It ranges from discussing settling and sleep techniques to thinking about how you and your partner will make time to connect. I then meet again with women (and/or partners) during the postnatal months to review the plan and provide guidance and support.
When women are experiencing distress, anxiety, relationship conflict, or depression in pregnancy, or postnatally, I provide counselling and psychological therapy.
Counselling and Psychology Services
Adults, couples and their families can benefit from seeing a psychologist when they are experiencing relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, stress, or other mental health symptoms, especially during times of change or adversity.
When offering counselling and psychological treatment, I work from a range of different psychological approaches, and tailor these to individual needs. I draw from contemporary psychological research to provide a holistic framework for understanding the mind, body, and relationships. I support people to build from their own resources to make life and relationship changes.
